Who we are

Our Story

It all began with my family…

When my husband, Edward, and I moved to the U.S. over 30 years ago, we were absolutely clueless. Edward was a trained physician overseas, but little did we know the long, complex process and confusing system that we’d have go through in order for him to practice in the United States and provide for our family.

Since then, it’s been my personal mission to ensure that no other family has to go through all the pitfalls and heartache that we endured during those early days.

Over the years, we’ve successfully helped countless IMGs and immigrant families thrive in the United States, and I officially incorporated Anchor of Hope in 2013 as a 501(c)3, non-profit, tax-exempt entity.

What started as a way to give back, and support a few family friends and mentees, has grown into a global network of impact-driven donors and volunteers devoted to supporting underserved individuals and families from all walks of life in transitioning out of hardship and realizing their full potential.

Anchor of Hope, Inc. (AOH) is grounded on the ideal of treating others with honor, dignity, and respect, with the realization that we all fall on hard times. We all go through tough transitions. But through a community of loving guidance and support we can rise up out of those tough times and fulfill our God-given potential.

It is my dream that we can band together as a compassionate community to help transform lives and that AOH continues to be a reservoir of HOPE for families, immigrants, and refugees in transition — for years to come.
